June 2020 Roster

It is nearly June, so I thought I would update my blog on my roster for next month. Although it seems pretty pointless, I didn’t want to skip one of these monthly posts. The current situation at Emirates is still relatively quiet, with only a few flights operating, however, things are slowly improving. Emirates are now flying to a number of countries, with more destinations expected to be added over the next few months.

Days off / Can Use

Currently, I have not been rostered any flights for June but our rosters are ever-changing. In my May 2020 roster post, I mentioned that our roster has been split into ‘Days off in Dubai’ and ‘Can-Use’. Days off in Dubai are actually flexible and may change to a duty. Similarly, Can-use days are a form of a duty and can also change at any time to a flight. Therefore, my roster is very flexible and can change at any point. We are basically on standby, should more flights be added.

Aircraft Refresher Training

Next month, I have been rostered a training day which is to refresh myself on aircraft topics. Everyone has been rostered this module and it will be focused on the Boeing 777 knowledge. Everyone must complete the online course. In July, I will be rostered the Airbus A380 refresher course.

I am surprisingly looking forward to doing this as I have forgotten so much knowledge. It will be interesting to see what I remember! It also gives me hope, that the company is preparing for more of us to fly again and resume back to normal.

As I have said before, hopefully the situation will improve soon as I cannot wait to start flying again. I miss absolutely everything, from putting on the best uniform in the world to exploring new cities!

I will of course update my roster, should anything change.

******UPDATE! I HAVE BEEN GIVEN A FLIGHT! I WILL BE FLYING TO BAHRAIN AT THE END OF JUNE. NEVER HAVE I BEEN SO HAPPY TO SEE A FLIGHT ON MY ROSTER. THE FLIGHT TO BAHRAIN IS A TURNAROUND BUT I AM SO EXCITED TO GET BACK UP INTO THOSE SKIES!*******

*******UPDATE! I WAS ALSO GIVEN A LAYOVER FLIGHT TO WASHINGTON D.C*********

Thanks for reading.
