Frankfurt, Germany

Another European destination for me, and this time I was heading to Frankfurt in Germany. I didn’t know much about Frankfurt or what to expect, but I was looking forward to doing some shopping, and hopefully seeing a good Christmas market. After a nice 6 hour flight, we arrived at the hotel in the evening, got changed and then met downstairs in the hotel restaurant for some dinner. One of the crew said the hotel does the most amazing German Schnitzel so I opted for that!

Forgot to take a pic so this is half way through!

I didn’t stay downstairs for long as I wanted to make use of FaceTime so I called my Mum, Sister and two friends and then went to bed.

The next morning, I made my way into the city as I wanted to go shopping. I discovered that there is a Primark here in Frankfurt so I had a little spend up in there! I also got a few other things in the sales.

I then walked to Römerberg to check out the Christmas market which was lovely, so festive! It was much better than the Stockholm Christmas market on my previous layover. I also finally got to try a traditional German Bratwurst sausage – delicious!

It was then time to come back to the hotel just in time for my pick up. I stopped off for another typical German delicacy, Laugenbrezel – a giant salted pretzel.

And that’s a wrap for Frankfurt! Although I didn’t do anything too adventurous, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and I am looking forward to my next layover, another German city – Hamburg!

Thanks for reading.
