October Roster

It has been over a month since I have been posted as I was on holiday for two weeks and since getting back, its been so hard getting back into a routine, however, before the month is over, I thought I would update my blog with October’s roster and then try to catch up with the holiday post and my most recent layovers! So, here is my roster for the month of October…

Munich, Germany (Layover)
Munich, Germany (Layover)
Houston, Texas (Layover)
Amman, Jordan (Turnaround)
London, United Kingdom (Layover)
Vienna, Austria (Layover)

Starting off the month with two back to back flights to Munich! I love Munich and travelled here before Emirates so I was pleased to see it on my roster, however, I was gutted when I realised I will be missing Oktoberfest by one day! Luckily though, Mamdouh swapped onto my first Munich flight and then I will be meeting my German friend, Leonie for dinner on the second trip so I have lots of other things planned.

I then have Houston which I am really excited about. I have always been interested in visiting Texas so I can’t wait to see what its like. I am really not quite sure what there is to do though, so any recommendations are welcome.

Next, I have the lovely London which is always nice to see on my roster. I will definitely be going home as it is on the weekend so I’m looking forward to that. Then, lastly, I have Vienna which is supposed to be beautiful and it is a new destination for me so another place to look forward to.

I don’t have as many flights this month as my Athens-Newark trip overlaps into the beginning of October and then I have quite a few days off in between flights which is amazing! I will try my best to get up to date with my holiday posts in the next few days.

Thanks for reading.

  1. I started reading Emirates cabin crew blogs in August when my niece got her golden call. She’s in training now. I just found your blog today and since I live in Houston, I thought I would give you a few suggestions. The iconic Houston site to visit is NASA. Unfortunately it’s about a 45 minute drive from downtown, but it’s a must if you’re interested in space or science. Closer to downtown is the Houston Museum of Natural Science which has a world class exhibit of gems and minerals. The downside is that it’s a bit expensive at $25. The best shopping is the Galleria mall. If you’re staying downtown, The Rustic has live music and Texas food and atmosphere. For lunch, I would suggest Truth BBQ, not too far from downtown, again a very Texas experience. The area along Westheimer Road between Montrose and Hazard has a lot of restaurants, bars and some shops, including Snooze AM recommended above.

    1. Hi Terry, thank you very much for your detailed recommendations – so helpful! I’m really interested to visit NASA and of course Galleria mall for some shopping. I googled your other recommendations and they look great too, thanks again! ๐Ÿ™‚
