I had quite a long break between layovers due to being off sick for a week (because I injured my foot), having two turnaround flights and then completing my yearly exams at Training college in Dubai, so I was looking forward to going away for a few days! I was rostered Boston which, to be honest, I wasn’t too keen on going back so soon as I was only there a couple of months ago, however, I didn’t manage to swap it for anything else, so Boston it was!
We departed Dubai early morning and arrived in Boston Logan International Airport in the early afternoon. I didn’t have much planned so I took my time and caught up on Facetiming my family when I arrived in the hotel. I decided to go for a walk later on into the city and look in the shops and have some dinner.
I felt really tired so I didn’t end up buying anything and instead grabbed a McDonald’s and then got a bus back to the hotel to have an early night. The next morning, I woke up early and then went out for a breakfast. Jessica from Jessicasjourneywithemirates.com is always going on about the Pink drink from Starbucks so I thought I would try it and see what all the fuss was about! It really is SO good!
I wandered into the city and went to Quincey Market which reminded me of Covent Garden in London. I got the famous New England Clam Chowder for lunch which was DELICIOUS!
I looked in some of the boutique shops and treated myself to a few bits from Urban Outfitters then walked back to the hotel to sleep for a couple of hours before the flight.
Again it was quite an uneventful layover but it was still nice to get out of Dubai and see a bit more of Boston! I’m really looking forward to my next layover to Entebbe, Uganda which is a new destination for me and somewhere I want to explore. Stay tuned for my post on that!
