My first flight

The time has finally come for me to start flying and put everything I have learnt in training college over the past 8 weeks into practice! My first ever flight was a turn around to Khartoum International Airport in Sudan, on the Boeing 777.

I was so incredibly nervous but excited at the same time. Luckily my flatmate Milena had exactly the same departure time as me, so we made our way to Emirates Headquarters together. Milena was so calm, she definitely helped calm me down too!

Just a bit nervous!

I made my way to the briefing and met my lovely crew. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. They all knew it was my ‘supy’ flight so they was going out of their way to help me and give me advice!

The best thing about the flight was definitely sitting in the cockpit. I felt so lucky and proud to be sitting there. The views were amazing, it was such a surreal experience and so interesting watching the work of the flight crew.

The flight itself went so quickly, before I knew it, we was preparing the cabin for landing. I tried to get involved as much as possible and help out with the service. It was such a good feeling, I loved every second of it!

In Sudan, I got to do the ‘walk around’ with the captain which was so interesting. The captain told me so much about the aircraft, it was fascinating. We then made our way back to Dubai. The return flight was fully booked, so it was much more busy, however, I thoroughly enjoyed it! I also had lots of fun with the crew, they really took care of me.

We arrived back in Dubai in the early hours. Surprisingly I didn’t feel tired at all as I had so much adrenaline!

What a great start. I absolutely loved it!!

I’m looking forward to doing it all over again in a few days for my first layover to Nice, France.

Thanks for reading.
